Guilt & Grief
This Weekend – Guilt and grief are two powerful forces in your life and mine. They both take the power of the Living God in our lives to face them. They really do. Guilt will keep you up at night. Grief can keep you from living your life! Guilt works on our minds; but grief works on our hearts. We don’t “get over” guilt and grief. We overcome guilt through the cross of Jesus Christ. We ultimately overcome grief through what happened after the cross. It’s called the resurrection of Christ from the grave. We need the power of both in our lives!

Why He Came
Special Message 21
Airing Week of 1/20/2020
I Timothy 1:15-17
This Week – We have never done this before on CrossHope, but we began this message on the Sunday before Christmas with showing and hearing a Visual Story from our website, called “Unexpected Faith”. It was a powerful moment as we share the audio at the beginning of this message so that you may hear what the audience heard. It speaks for itself; listen to it at the top of this message.
Monday (1/20) – We introduce the passage from First Timothy of where the Apostle Paul tells simply and succinctly why Jesus came to earth in the first place! He did not come just bring peace and love to the earth. Paul tells us that He came into the world to save sinners! News flash: that’s you and me! That’s your family, your community, and your world.
Tuesday (1/21) – You and I come to the Lord with all our baggage, our past, present, and future. It’s one of the great days in your life and mine, when we discover that truth. This text is not only a statement for the world in general; it’s for your life and mine in particular. When’s the last time you processed the words, “I am a sinner in need of forgiveness; and Jesus is my only hope!” That’s what this passage is about.
Wednesday (1/22) – The darker our past, the brighter our future seems in Christ. That’s not just a play on words or the turning of a phrase; it’s the great statement of life! When we say God couldn’t possibly forgive my sinful past, we are challenging the very mind of God! Paul said even though he was the “worst of sinners”, God displayed his mercy and patience in Paul’s life.
Thursday (1/23) – What has the Lord done in your life that demonstrates His patience and His mercy? Perhaps more than even that which comes to mind right now. He has much to offer the sinner who seeks His forgiveness. He has little to give the man or woman is “self-righteous”. Think about that for a moment. He has little or nothing to give the man or woman is satisfied with his or her “status “that is self-determined or self-achieved. We come to foot of the cross empty handed!
Friday (1/24) – We close a story begun on Thursday about a woman who said that she was the only member of her family who didn’t hate her father. Why? She said it was because she never loved him in the first place! What a statement. I’m thankful that God isn’t like that. Everything about His relationship with us is based upon His mercy and patience. That’s no small thing. Listen to this powerful closing story by Yolanda Young.
